Grabher Construction: Quality is our Niche – SUN VALLEY

Highly skilled craftsmen, many who have been with the company for over thirty years, provide the expertise that is the basis of Grabher Construction’s tradition of excellence.

For the last forty years, Grabher Construction has built quality homes with exacting architectural details in the Wood River Valley. Elmar Grabher founded the company in 1967 and five years later his brother, Fritz, moved from Austria to join him in the business. Now, Elmar’s daughter, Elisabeth Grabher-Avery, is at the helm of the company, which has grown to over 50 full-time employees.

Grabher Construction’s hard-earned reputation for quality and reliability is built on a foundation of excellence and integrity. “Our quality is deeply rooted in our company’s history, structure and culture,” says Elisabeth. “We take responsibility from the preliminary planning stages through the final finishes to ensure our homes reflect the finest craftsmanship. We are concerned about the end product and how we get there.”

Grabher maintains quality by carefully evaluating each new project and then applying their expertise and experience to implement the construction and design of the job. To ensure quality control, a job foreman is appointed to oversee every detail of the project, from the initial planning stages to final occupancy.

This consistent vision is what enabled Grabher Construction to craft a Sun Valley home that is the essence of quality and elegance. Recently featured in The Community Library 2006 Tour of Homes, the attention to detail and ambiance make this home truly a work of art. Entering the home one is embraced with a feeling of comfort and elegance.

Elisabeth says of the home, “We had to be thinking from the start what the end product would look like. There were so many details to think through: art niches, lighting, retractable window blinds and their motor apparatus. It’s this kind of detailing that sets a multi-layered fine home apart from the rest.”

The home’s well-proportioned, comfortable interior is where Grabher Construction’s work distinguishes itself. Built-in furniture, reclaimed chestnut plank floors, complex beam work, sweeping staircases and plaster work were executed with the same precision as the craftsmen of a hundred years ago. Never very far from the action, Elisabeth ensured that not one detail was overlooked. For this home, as with other projects, she served as the client liaison, working closely with the client and project manager.

"Building a custom home truly is a creative process"

"It is fun to always be creating something new and carrying it out to completion,” Elisabeth says, explaining her energetic enthusiasm. Returning to the subject of quality, she states, “Houses are big and complex projects and things need to be adjusted to work optimally. This means teamwork and communication that sets clear expectations, exhibits mutual trust and adheres to the project schedule and budget.”

With these values, it is not surprising that Grabher Construction not only warrantees their work, but also works closely with their clients to familiarize them with all aspects of their new home.

Grabher Construction builds high-end custom homes and remodels existing homes throughout the Sun Valley area. For a consultation call Elisabeth Grabher-Avery.
