Feel-good Interiors - PARK CITY

HPH Design

The new and innovative design firm, HPH Design, proves it has the knack for tapping into “good senses” to create great spaces.

How does it feel?

This question is the touchstone of the HPH Design firm. How do different design genres draw you in and speak your own language? How do various colors and objects affect your emotions? What types of textures catch your eye and feel good to the touch? The firm’s approach to design is based on knowing a client’s lifestyle, and then creating a space that functions in harmony with who they are.

Interior Designers Roxanne Hepworth and Karin Porter joined forces in 2008 as HPH Design (Hepworth. Porter.Haute). Residents of Park City, they bring a multitude of experience from working with a diverse clientele in metropolitan areas—New York City, San Francisco, Phoenix, Baltimore, Los Angeles, etc. They had long been kindred spirits in their desire to bring fresh, innovative and functional designs to the Park City and Deer Valley market, as well as those up and coming areas in Utah. While being well versed in a plethora of styles, their hallmark talent is in the uniting of what may seem dissimilar design components (mixing the exotic with the familiar) into a fluid blending of architecture, colors, textures, and furniture from the exterior finishes and landscaping, and throughout the interiors of every room in the home.

HPH Design treats every project like it’s the one and only. Their projects include resort hotels, restaurants, office buildings, 800 square-foot Hawaiian bungalows, 12,000+ square-foot mountain homes, and everything in between. Remodels are also part of their ‘in development’ projects—an existing home can be “reinvented” to take on a whole new life.

Roxanne and Karin are excellent listeners as well as communicators, which forges a solid working relationship between them, the client, the architect, developer and builder. The homeowner is an integral part of their team, bringing a valued and highly relevant perspective to the collaborative process. To ensure that the end result is what the client has been envisioning, designs are continually reviewed throughout the process—from the conceptual stages through construction documents—making enhancements to all phases, while staying on budget and meeting timelines.

The philosophy at HPH Design is that interior design has the power to make people happy; that light, color and texture have the power to revive one’s senses when one comes home at the end of the day. Ultimately, the best design comes from a synthesis of all the elements, therefore creating a truly timeless, inspirational and life-enhancing environment.
