At Moyer Builders, we are frequently asked how anyone can build a dream home far from where they currently live. After building in and around Jackson Hole for 35 years, we have successfully finished many projects like this. This area’s high-demand location lures families who are either interested in moving here full-time or desire a vacation place that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Regardless of the family’s motivation, building a home in the Tetons is a great investment. Moyer Builders stands ready to assist by assembling a team that combines professionalism, expertise, creativity, accountability and trustworthiness.
“What’s it like to have a home built 2,000 miles away? A piece of cake,” according to Tom and Suzanne Arden of Toms River, New Jersey. Moyer Builders recently built the Ardens’ new house on the Idaho side of State Line Road near Driggs. It features post and beam construction, an open kitchen and living area, vaulted wood ceiling, custom trim work, and oldworld style tile work.
The firm has built more than 60 homes here, according to owner Pete Moyer, building a strong reputation for guiding their customers through the sometimes-difficult building process with respect, thoroughness and co-operation.
“Working with Pete Moyer was a wonderful experience,” the Ardens said, and their words are typical. “We are proud that we have satisfied clients,” Moyer says. He encourages prospective customers to talk to any builder’s previous clients, to determine what builder is realistic, responsible and responsive.
To all endeavors, Moyer brings a well-rounded, practical viewpoint. In college he majored in business, then worked for a Denver bank before turning to carpentry and ultimately becoming a contractor. Thus, he deeply understands the financial implications and rewards of building a home.
Building equity, he notes, requires building quality, which Moyer says “is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution.” He also goes the extra step for new homeowners by providing a compilation of instruction manuals and all warranties for construction, materials and major appliances.
A registered master builder, Pete Moyer was named Idaho Building Contractors Association Builder of the Year in 2001. Moyer served on the organization’s board for five years and as IBCA president and voting director for the National Association of Home Builders for one year.
As for the Ardens, they couldn’t be happier about their new home. They intend to spend at least five months a year here before moving West permanently after Tom’s son finishes school. “When he graduates, we’ll bail out of New Jersey and never miss a powder or hiking day in the mountains,” Tom says.
Such a pursuit—a home in a wonderful location—might only be a dream for some people; Moyer Builders made a reality for the Ardens. We can do it for you, too.
“We feel honored to have a home built by Moyer Builders,” the Ardens said. “Pete Moyer holds himself and his workers to the highest of standards. Because of Pete’s work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail, the building process was painless, the price was fair and the results were exceptional. We highly recommend Moyer Builders.”
