The Munsterman Group LLC is a small and efficient residential design firm located on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, in Tahoe Vista, California. Serving mainly California, Montana and Idaho, they specialize in combining state-of-the-art construction technologies with authentic construction techniques, creating unique alternative “hybrid” designs in a variety of styles. This firm has found success in remaining a smaller “boutique” company over the years, enabling each client to receive a higher level of attention and professional service.
The company is the continuing evolution of a business started in 1987 by Dale Munsterman, a Certified Professional Building Designer with the American Institute of Building design. Having worked “hands-on” in various disciplines within the construction industry for many years, his expertise lies in providing balance. He feels that consistently striving for an appropriate balance between designs that inspire, yet remain extremely build-able, is the key to design finesse. As a long-time member of the North Tahoe Design Site Review Committee, Dale also draws on years of experience working with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and various other agencies and associations that influence the local design environment.
Working in conjunction with the finest structural engineers on every project, The Munsterman Group LLC has extensive experience in the use of energy-efficient and alternative construction materials and methods, such as the use of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), log post and beam construction and passive solar design techniques. The Munsterman Group LLC is sensitive to the harsh realities of high-altitude mountain design, as well as the “softer” design techniques, such as Feng Shui (the traditional art of placement).
In the office, The Munsterman Group LLC utilizes the latest state-of-the-art design technologies, such as 3D modeling/rendering and virtual-design as aids towards producing a precision set of working drawings.
